Clay Bailar was uniquely introduced to the Healing Arts. In 2012, Clay suffered a massive heart attack and underwent triple bypass surgery. During cardiac recovery, he was placed on seven different medications. Three of these medications were for his blood pressure.
Despite the number of medications Clay was taking to maintain a healthy blood pressure level, he endured months of complications which ultimately concluded in two blackout episodes during two weeks. These blackouts were experienced while driving, resulting in collisions totaling two different vehicles. Feeling as if his very life were in peril, Clay sought answers for why he was struggling with his recovery and unable to live a normal lifestyle.
After conducting research, he discovered his blackouts were due to an overdose of blood pressure medication. Upon this eye-opening revelation, Clay decided it was time to take his health and well-being into his own hands.
A good friend, who had spent the last 26 years living in Europe, had discovered and understood a more Holistic way of health. She persuaded Clay to use Essential Oils to aid his recovery process. While working with his doctor and utilizing the benefits of Essential Oils, he completely recovered within six months and no longer needed his blood pressure medication.
By December of 2014 Clay had come to a crossroad in his life. Despite having made a full recovery, he was no longer able to be a Teamster Truck Driver which had been his career for the last 19 years. Feeling as if he had lost his purpose and that life as he knew it, was over, Clay truly believed that this was the end of the road. After seriously searching the consciousness of life and the understanding of cause and effect, he prayed and said, “Show me my purpose!” He then truly felt something Divine say to him, “Learn all you can about Cranial Sacral Therapy and how to use it to help people to heal themselves.”
Clay’s journey to educate himself began in February 2015, when he attended his first Upledger Cranial Sacral class. He truly fell in love with the fact that he could help people heal themselves with his hands and knew that he had found his calling. The only obstacle to practicing Cranial Sacral therapy professionally was that a Massage Therapist license was required. Refusing to be deterred in his drive to help people with their personal healing, Clay began massage therapy school in July 2015. He determinedly drove 120 miles round-trip daily to achieve his goal.
In July 2016, he realized his dream and became a Licensed Massage Therapist. At that point, he found two of his earth angels who invited him into their business at the Apple Valley Inn. He was truly blessed to learn from one of the best massage therapists in the high desert for pregnancy and post pregnancy massages. In the middle of 2017, he was again fortunate and invited to come to work with his mentor at The Health and Healing Place. Clay believes he might not have gotten into this work if it were not for hearing this man’s name and the work he was doing to help the people of his center of influence. He truly feels blessed to have the opportunity to work side-by-side with a man of such a wealth of knowledge on healing the body.
Clay continually goes to classes and online webinars to constantly increase his knowledge. What he truly feels was life-changing, was when he went to John Barnes Myofascial Release Therapy training in Sedona, Arizona for 11 days. He was truly amazed at the extent of the fascia’s involvement with all bodily functions. He believes with all his heart that we can heal ourselves without drugs or surgeries. He is living proof of that. Today he takes 0 medications and feels healthier than he did when he was in his 40s. He has a truly kind compassionate heart and feels blessed to be able to do what he does.
Stacy has resided in the High Desert for 50 years and cares deeply about our local community. She obtained her Nurisng Degree at Victor Valley college 30 years ago, going onto a career in cardiac nursing, including open heart clients, and ultimatly nursing management. She knows on a personal level the limits and negative side effects of some current medical treatments or procedures. The diagnosis of aggressive, late stage uterine cancer came unexpectedly at the age of 47, with the plan of care involving a 9 hour surgery followed by a year of concurrent radiation and chemotherapy. She has been cancer free for 14 years, with great gratitude and joy. Ultimately, the shrot term side effects progressed into long term dibility with increasing frequent hospital stays. She was looking for alternates for healing when she experienced her first cranio treatment in 2013. The relief she experienced was significantly noticable, so much so that she was moved to become a provider and pass on the powerful modality to her clients. " It was amazing to me. To learn that our bodies have another whole other system, like respiratory or cardiac, and that one can actually feel the rythym of that was paradigm changing. It is slow, soft and sublet; it proceeds without our awareness. It is both.. a reflection and indicator of ones health, and a means to facilitate corrections or restore function. My nurse heart was overjoyed at the new found discovery and I have loved sharing this gift with as many people as possible." Her goals for the next several years revolve and her vison of expanding awareness of CranioSacral Therapy to all people. Most importantly, she remains a fierce advocate for her clients, compassionate and kind, gentle and confident. Assist every client to re-align their bodies to the highest level of health possbile, body, mind and spirit. To educate clients on the healing power of the craniosacral system and their own innate healing capacities. To continue her education via Upledger Institute International, growing with the research and science as it develops. To collaberate with local physicians to provide care to those patients who made be resistant or non responsive to traditional medical care. She is excited and grateful to be joining the team of practioners at the Healing Within Wellness Center. As Dr Upledger often said, "Helping people Soften and Heal".
Lori has been a physical therapist for greater than 30 years, graduating from Mount St. Mary’s University in Los Angeles, California. She has enjoyed working in a multitude of settings from acute rehab to home health and skilled nursing, and she takes great pleasure and helping her clients achieve their goals. She embraces a compassionate holistic approach to wellness and healing. Her personal healing journey began after several workrelated injuries, which impaired her ability to use her arms, neck, and back. She was divinely guided to pursue intensive training in Myofascial Release and Craniosacral therapy, as these disciplines have played such a huge role in her personal recovery. After becoming aware of how problems with her own lymphatic system led to a decline in health, Lori became a Certified Holistic Manual Lymphatic Drainage practitioner to share this powerful treatment with others. She has a passion for learning and continues to pursue additional training to advance her skills, including becoming certified in body sculpting in 2024. She is a firm believer in the healing power that lies within each of us, and that healing the body cannot be separated from healing the mind and spirit. She is honored to join the skilled professionals at Healing Within Wellness Center
Three years ago, my journey into holistic healing began after I was diagnosed with neuropathy, a condition that left doctors puzzled about its origins. Faced with the daunting prognosis that I might eventually lose my ability to walk, I was prescribed medications that only masked the intense pain I experienced, like my feet were constantly resting on a bed of hot coals. Although these medications affected my eyesight, they offered little relief. It was during a Reiki session that I first felt a spark of hope. While the immediate effects were subtle, something within me began to shift. This experience inspired me to pursue my passion for healing, and I became a Reiki Master and Certified Sound Healer. Through dedication and practice, I was able to heal my neuropathy within a year. Driven by a desire to empower others on their healing journeys, I furthered my education and became a Certified Massage Therapist. This path allows me to provide compassionate, hands-on support to those in need. By integrating various modalities of healing, I strive to facilitate profound transformations and help others rediscover their own strength and well-being.
